Zweigelt is deliciously unusual red grape variety which is found in Central European countries such as Austria & Hungary. The fruit is sourced from south facing vineyards and after fermentation 10% of the wine spends 5 months in oak barriques.Red Cherry and plums aromas jump out of the glass leading to a vibrant, vigorous palate of spicy, gently oaked red & black fruits.

Open Air Dairy Cheddar | Funkstille Zweigelt
The Cheese:
This beautiful, creamy, full-flavoured cheddar comes from the Open Air Dairy in Littlebredy – a unique large-scale dairy farm in Dorset that milks cows in the field as they graze. Tom Foot and Neil Grigg produce exceptional milk from pasture-fed cows using mobile milking parlours. The result? A traditional Dorset cheddar with real depth and character. Why They Work Together: The creamy richness of this cheddar needs a wine with personality, and the peppery, plummy notes of Zweigelt cut through the richness beautifully while complementing the cheese’s savoury depth.
Recommended! We love the vibrant, aromatic nature of this wine and also like to drink it with Spicey Pizza, Chinese Spiced Duck or BBQ Pork Ribs.
