Our Story

Modbury Farm shop is situated in the farmyard of Modbury Farm and has been housed in a beautifully restored shippon once home to cows and sheep. Previous owners who still farm at Modbury opened a shop in 2007 and it has been the centre of the community over the years until recently neighbours Tim and Lucinda Ackland took over the day to day running of the business. Modbury Farm shop a` Lensomy Lifestyle’ opened its doors on the 29th May 2023 on a gorgeous hot sunny bank holiday.

Lensomy is an old Sanskrit word which means unconditional love and everything they stock and sell under Modbury’s roof they love , including the philosophies of the suppliers. The Acklands feel by supporting their community as neighbours and creating a space for locals to sell their products and supply good quality fresh foods to visitors and residents they are connecting through the love of nature and their environment.

The shop is full of local and Organic produce mostly from the surrounding area and the south west with the odd organic product that cannot be found locally or is of the best quality but still of the Uk.

Besides the farms own produce and fresh eggs they stock freshly baked bread, including sourdough and gluten free options, the best, free range, sustainably farmed meat, freshly frozen straight from our butcher and specialist products, actively promoting local produce grown or made in Dorset.

Everything sourced and sold has its own story and the energy behind every item is of pure joy!
