Golden Light, Gentle Shifts & Carrying the Spirit of Summer into Autumn
As August draws to a close and the morning light begins to soften across the Bride Valley, there is an unmistakable shift in the air.
Late summer always asks us to pause. It invites us to celebrate the weddings, milestones, and bustling farmyard afternoons we’ve shared, whilst gently making room for the grounding, slower rhythms of the season ahead.
🍂 The Big News: Alfresco is Continuing Through to December!
When we opened the yard for our Modbury Farm Alfresco gatherings this summer, our hope was simply to create a space for honest food, local drinks, and genuine community connection.
The response from neighbours, regulars, and visitors has blown us away.
Because of your wonderful support, we are not stopping just because summer is winding down. We are officially keeping the spirit alive and running our Modbury Farm Alfresco events right through Autumn and into December, building towards a special festive market in the farmyard!

We are curating seasonal menus, artisan pairings, and special yard dates as the weather cools. Keep an eye on our shop noticeboards, social media, and upcoming notes for specific dates, themed weekends, and announcements as we move through the season.

As the morning air turns crisp, there is nothing quite like a freshly brewed cup in hand.
Whether you are pausing for a peaceful moment to sip in the yard or grabbing a takeaway for a countryside walk, our coffees are brewed using fresh, wholesome milk straight from the churn. And if you love our house blend, you can enjoy that same rich flavour at home—our signature Modbury Roast is available exclusively in-store and online.

As the seasons change, our bodies naturally crave deeper nourishment, warmth, and steady grounding.
In the farm shop, the shelves are shifting to reflect the harvest:
Fresh Bakes & Gluten-Free Treats: Daily deliveries of artisan loaves from historic Evershot Bakery, alongside delicious gluten-free home bakes crafted by local favourite Kim’s Dorset Kitchen.
Hearty Seasonal Produce: Fresh root vegetables ready for slow cooking, paired with our farm-reared meats and fresh eggs.
Warm Hydration: Moving from iced refreshments to room-temperature waters, broths, and soothing herbal infusions.
Local Craftsmanship: Pure wool creations and natural yarns from the Bride Valley shepherdesses, celebrating true Dorset provenance and Lensomy Knits
