Dandelion - Rebecca Clarke
I took the photo of the dandelion petals while sitting in a field during a spring walk with the dog. The field was full of wildflowers and dandelions, which I look forward to seeing every year. It instantly brought back memories of childhood — blowing dandelion and making wishes. That mix of simplicity, nostalgia, and the beauty of the season is what inspired me to take the photo. Xx

Treacle, the heavily pregnant ewe.
Treacle. She is an older ewe who was poorly several years ago and has only lambed once before. Although much of it is fleece she looked quite huge before lambing - which made me smile and that’s why I took the photo. I went out one morning and she had a pair of healthy lambs in the field shelter. She is the perfect mum and loves her lambs unconditionally.

Jumping into Spring - Caroline Raybould
I loved the children jumping in the air into the sand down at Freshwater beach so I had to capture the moment. It was a warm sunny day and it felt like they were literally What inspired you to capture your image? ‘Jumping into spring!’ They were full of giggles and they brought smiles all around.
How does the photo make you feel when you look back at it?
Both pictures bring me pure joy. The love and happiness for my children and my niece and nephews. It makes me remember that exact moment of beauty, excitement, the longing for the sun and wanting to get in the water. Which we did walk across the river and it was freezing! That made us laugh a lot.

Paulina The Lamb
Paulina was born in the barn to a poorly mum. She could not stand and weighed only 1.3kg. So I brought her into the house and she has been living with my dogs and cats (more photos are on the Bramblecot Fb page). Throughout a time of great personal sadness, caring for her brought me comfort, and joy knowing she was getting stronger day by day. I love her cheeky face, velvety ears and little bright button eyes. Every time I look at her, she makes me smile. This photo reminds me that there is hope and joy, even when sadness seems overwhelming.

The Great Cow Escape - Caroline Raybould
I love living in the countryside, hearing and seeing the cows. I love it even more when I’m walking the dog and run in to a herd of escapee cows walking down the road. You don’t see that everyday!
Seeing the cows walking down the street. Reminds me of how much I love living here and how lucky we are to live in the countryside. You wouldn’t see cows going for a stroll in the city!

Woodland Walk
I was inspired to take this photo because of the bluebells and Ramsons which were at their best that morning and a sign that spring was in full swing.
If you look carefully you will see my collie amongst the bluebells. She was very chilled and believe me that isn’t always the case - that made me smile. It was as if the magic of that pathway cast a spell over us and we were in no hurry to reach the end. We were both having a moment of mindfulness!

Sunrise over Shipton Hill
Having gotten up early more than once during our stay in the village seeing the stunning sunrise, I decided to take the phone to capture it. 2. It makes me feel glad that Brandy woke me up to go out. 3. The whole photo makes me smile from the sunrise to Brandy trying to find the right spot and me still feeling half asleep. 4. There's no story apart from Brandy needing the loo 5. Brandy at sunrise, perfect.

Beach Sunset
We moved to Shipton Gorge in January, Hive Beach is stunning so we thought we’d have our first BBQ on the beach as it was a lovely day. Many people arrived at the beach after 6pm & set up their picnics. It was such a wonderful atmosphere. We’d literally just packed up our stuff to leave and as we were walking back towards the car, I looked over to the west and saw this scene! How does it make you feel? So so lucky to live our dream with our two boys Senna & Enzo who simply love the beach and water. What makes you smile? We sold our house in 2022 but it fell through 3 times, so our Smile is the Dream Location, Tranquility of the Location, Happiness & Joy of everyone around us who were just enjoying an Amazing evening. The private memory. The stress and anxiety we suffered for 2.5 yrs whilst trying to move & having the rug pulled from under us with 2wks from completion in June 2024 (when believe it or not we were moving to Norfolk!) The Beach scene I captured is simply a Dream for Beverley & I to capture an Amazing Picture of such Joy & Happiness for everyone who was on the Beach that evening.

Shipton Church
The blossom- it’s so fleeting but so beautiful!
How does the photo make you feel when you look back at it?
Full of joy to have moved to the village and to have been made so welcome.
Which bit makes you smile?
The sunshine and the blossom.
Does your photo hold a story that you would like to share or has it become a private memory?
I was walking towards the church to go ringing and enjoying the beautiful morning.

Cherry Blossom
I took this photo whilst walking around the grounds at Springhead Trust. I was on a school residential and this was my moment of peace away from the children! As I wandered through the lovely gardens, I paused under this tree and admired its blossom and figured it would be nice to record the memory for ever with a photo. So, this photo brings back memories of that residential, the wonderful weather, the peaceful surroundings, a family of geese with their 7 goslings on the lake and the fantastic time the children had and the staff had of course!

Oak Tree
This is a magnificent tree I know well season by season, on a favourite walk. It stands by itself in a field. On this spring day, I loved the blue sky through the leaves, and the contrast of the gnarled old branches with their fresh green foliage. This tree always makes me think of the Thomas Hardy poem Transformations, which is about how when people die, they are reborn again, ‘in the growths of upper air’:
Portion of this yew
Is a man my grandsire knew,
Bosomed here at its foot:
This branch may be his wife,
A ruddy human life
Now turned to a green shoot.
These grasses must be made
Of her who often prayed,
Last century, for repose;
And the fair girl long ago
Whom I often tried to know
May be entering this rose.
